Blog EntryA Married ManAug 15, '08 12:21 PM
for everyone

Yup! It's official. I'm a married man, Haha!

I'm definitely enjoying the married life, but still recovering from the mental and physical fatigue preparing for the wedding.

I now have a wife!!! Still coming to terms with that fact, wahahah!!!

Thanks so much to everyone who came for the wedding. Hope you guys enjoyed yourselves.

I'll write more about it later on perhaps. Still haven't gotten the photos and footages from CM, VN, MK and JW.

One week into the marriage, I must say it's been blissful.

for everyone

2 more weeks!

Wow!

~~~
The reality of it hasn't hit me yet, cos so busy with everything.
Yesterday, even before I got the keys to the new house, the air-con people were already waiting there.
Plans for the air-con had to be changed but I felt it all went well. Even changed most of the toilet fixtures.
Lightings guys coming today. Minh and Andrew will drop by at night to engineer the movement of Andrew's wardrobe.
~~~

Lots more to settle, and very little time.

~~~
Very, very soon now, two indivduals from very different backgrounds, will be united forever.
I'm very excited :-)
Blog Entry30 Days!Jul 8, '08 10:51 AM
Writing from Bedok Central Market now.. no internet at home since Dank is on mobile wireless, haha!
Just got back from meeting some church volunteers on things that needed done and really stressed liao.
I always felt things were running along pretty fine and managable; rushed no doubt, but moving along.
Wah suddenly so many things that nobody (me, that is) thought about coming up!
And I haven't sent out a single invitation card. All freshly printed but waiting to be filled up and sent out!
Ok, will take each task one step at a time...
Actually wanted to paint the new house ourselves to save up, but now will just heck it.
Initially thought can ask Minh and Andrew to help paint, then with the savings buy a big TV so we can all watch soccer.
Now, can forget about it liao lah.. sigh...
Anyways, here's the view that me, Daisy, Minh and Andrew will have to get used to for the next one year.
This is facing the sea.
Facing the city.
The cool thing is that we're so high up and unbocked that I've been walking around everyday naked with the windows open!
But I sleep with my doors locked in case Dank's animal instincts causes him to do funny things. Oops!
This is the night-time view:
Ok, finished eating my dinner, now gotta go back to video editing.
I would like to end this post by re-posting something I find very beautiful written by Redsponge
**************************************
Wedding is just a day of show to me. Marriage is the life-long "responsibility".
If life is a book, marriage would be a new chapter in it and wedding would be the decoration page of the chapter.
I believe a good start would make the following pages to be more interesting.
The definition of the good start could be varied from each individual. To me, a wedding should be blessed with everyone who cares about us and also whom we care about. Thus, the page must be filled with the joy of everyone instead of the 2 of us only.
We were quite lucky as given quite a lot of space in organizing the wedding. Parents do let us have our way in certain things and friends always give supports for us in doing everything. The effort of everybody helping us in filling up the page make me feel that we are so much loved and blessed by them
.
**************************************
I've always thought of marriage to be between two loving souls.
I thought a simple 'happy' dinner at Lei Gardens @ Chijmes with a few family and friends would be just nice.
Now I realise it's not that simple. There are so many people in your live that you can't just pretend don't matter to you.
Also, it seems like planning a wedding is not as simple as making a few calls to the restaurant.
Our wedding would not be able to happen without the help of our family and friends.
Like Redsponge, I've very, very, very touched.
I thank all of you in advance, from the bottom of my heart, for your kindness and sincerity.
There's so many things to do, and yet, I've not even met up with the Band of Brothers (& Sisters) and others who have kindly agreed to lend a helping hand.
謝謝!!
*muahz*
P/S: Well, in case you can't see it, the last picture is not taken from the new place lah, duh.. I don't stay at Swissotel the Stamford k!
Blog Entry40 Days!Jun 30, '08 9:24 AM
for everyone
The week gone by was a (mad) rush.
Work, appointment with the priest, moving house, photoshoot, etc..
No time to plan anything special for Daisy on her birthday.
Oh but she did get an invite to appear in court for speeding.
She was rushing to KahWeng/Jayne's wedding early in the morning.
12 demerit points and an appearance in front of the District Judge.
Yesterday was also 40 more days.. arghz, gotta settle things soon!
Oh and check out what flew in from Kuching! Thnx Redsponge & CCW.
Hooray!
Blog EntryI Should Feel Sorry For HerJun 21, '08 5:03 AM
for everyone
Currently making the news/online forums/blogs for all the wrong reasons.
Started with this post by a lady blogger it seems.
Then, the newspapers picked it up.
I've read thru her blog and the comments, and yet, I can't symphatise with her fully.
It's not the first time she drew attention to being molested.
I don't like the way she wrote "the guy had the thrill of his life and got away scot free"
We probably won't know the full story, but this whole thing could have been easily avoided or better managed.
I'm not saying the guy has the right to do what he did. Not at all. No consent means wrong.
But her conduct about this messy affair also seems wrong.
It might be very true (or not) that she's very traumatised and yet, I find it very difficult to take her side.
Like I said, I don't know the whole story.
Blog Entry50 Days!Jun 18, '08 12:58 PM
for everyone
I still remember writing a post titled 100 Days! Suddenly, I'm left with 50 Days!
Kinda feels like counting down to my first marathon race; so big an event, yet so unprepared.
Come to think about it, it's barely a month since we decided to hold a wedding dinner banquet.
Definitely feels somewhat glamorous hosting a private dinner!
How time flies. So much has happened, and so much more to think about and do.
As a matter of fact, we first visited the bridal studio last week.
Today, we were supposed to have our photoshoot but a heavy downpour kept us indoors the whole time.
Still, we managed to snap a few photos on our trusty old Konica Minolta compact camera.
Like this picture of Daisy at her trial make up on Sunday.
Peek-A-Boo! Haha...
There's also this picture of a very boyish looking weirdo adding more parking coupons to avoid being fined.
Busted!
Well, the excitement is definitely mounting; feeling so charged up, yet so fatigued at the same time.
Very soon now...
We'll be together. Together Forever!
Blog EntrySundown Marathon 2008Jun 2, '08 2:59 PM
for everyone
Some people pay to suffer. Me and Daisy, we fall into that category.
Knowing we were totall unprepared, we still attempted the Sundown Marathon at 0000hrs Sunday morning.
I ran a grand total of less than 20km since Dec last year. Honest.
Anyways, as usual, we were rushing like mad to the start point, arriving at the last minute.
Guess who we saw at the starting point? Sam and Audrey!
Think they were dropping off a friend from KL who came over for the race.
The usual suspects were there for the race.
I approached this event already knowing I must employ a Run-Walk strategy to finish the race.
Surprisingly, I was not the only one unprepared for the race.
So, we alternated between running and walking. Still, all of us suffered cramps even before the halfway point.
Guess who we saw at Marine Cove? Tommy and Sarah!
At this point, Daisy and myself, we took a detour from the race route.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, I ended up at the 15th floor of Marine View Mansions for 5 minutes.
From there, I made it down Marine Parade Road to rejoin the race route at the Siglap Park Connector.
I probably shaved 1-2km off the race route (detour in bright red line) and got separated from the others.
Tried to call IronMunn but the bugger left like 7 or 8 calls go unanswered.
Waited about 10 minutes for them at the intersection of Siglap Park Connector and Marine Parade Road.
In the end, I decided they were ahead of me instead and continued on my own.
It wasn't until Bedok Reservoir that IronMunn returned my calls.
We sort of regrouped and carried on from there to Tampines.
As we approaced Pasir Ris however, it started pouring cats and dogs. And thunder. Plus lightning, of course.
The rain eventually stopped and the Mr Sun and Ms Rainbow came out to play.
It would have been the perfect morning, save for the pain and fatigue.
The last 3km lasted more than 30 minutes but in the end, I crossed the finish line at a career personal worst time.
I'm guessing I took 08hrs 08mins 08seconds. If not exact, then close.
Limped home to discover I have this major blister. It's humongous I tell you. And cute in a way.
Cool huh? Very rounded.
Today, I also realised that my calf that was hurting like siao from cramps, is now bruised.
However, I doubt it's from the running itself. Think it's from the foot reflexologist I went to for massage.
By the way, nice right my smooth hairless leg?
Blog Entry70 Days!May 30, '08 7:35 AM
for everyone
It's 70 more days to our wedding. Gosh, does time fly!
And we've just settled our dinner banquet venue last week.
Now, we're in the midst of inviting the people in our lives to celebrate with us.
Barely 3 weeks ago, we were at the Engaged Encounter in Ponggol.
At that time, we had absolutely no idea then that we were gonna host a dinner on 08.08.08.
But now we are, and if you're invited, that means your presence is important, so pls come!
If we somehow missed you out in the midst of this rush, please remind us yeah.
Here are some pictures from the Ponggol weekend.
Some 30 couples checked into this nice house at Ponggol Seventeenth Avenue on Friday evening.
I was expecting a wide open dormitory style of accomodation, but we got chalet style rooms instead.
We were even given a set of romantic/cute matching name tags upon checking in.
During meal times, our seatings would be pre-arranged to enable us to meet other couples.
The presentations and dialogue sessions were very profound and intense.
In spite of that, the weekend was also planned such that it was very romantic.
Even the choice of candy was designed to be in line with the theme!
It may have been organised by Catholic volunteers, but up to 30% of attendees were not even Catholics.
I would definitely recommend that everyone considering marrage to share this Encounter with each other.
For us Catholic Christians, this is one of the compulsory courses so there's no escape.
But the insight and understanding of each other that we gained, is utterly invaluable.
This certificate enables us to marry in church 70 days from today.
But the intangible benefits of the weekend, will last us a lifetime!
Blog EntryWhat A Busy WeekendMay 26, '08 12:54 AM
for everyone
The weekend hit me like Ultra Strong Alcohol. Literally Haha.
Rushed from work to be at Jupe's supposed small cirlce birthday bash at Avon Park.
I completely forgot to get the fella a present, but he's probably not sober enough to notice.
Oopz! Sorry Bro!!!
It was way fun! Here's a shot of us already high... I mean happy.
Throw in some non-stop drinking challenges and we get more happy.
As usual, we got the better of someone (edited to give him some privacy)
Thanks to ChenPeng for sending me home, dunno what I'll do without you bro.
Had to somehow pull myself together to be at HDB Hub at 8.30am with Daisy.
We had our First Appointment to put pen to paper on buying a flat at Bedok.
After a lunch of Kuching laksa, we went to town to look at a dining place.
Yup, we having a wedding dinner banquet!
We just decided to hold a dinner reception last week so things are moving at break neck speed!
Haven't even had time to tell our friends yet. Paiseh, will contact you guys a.s.a.p.
After confirming the banquet, we went over to Roger's place for his house-warming party.
The evening was spent celebrating my niece's 1st birthday. Happy Birthday Gladys!
It's her birthday today but she got to open her presents last week.
Finally, on Sunday, the sober again gang met up for Boon Seong's wedding.
We found out some other great news during that banquet.
Goh Poh Min's gonna be a daddy!
Congrats la!!! You da Man!!!
Blog EntryBiggest Game of 2008May 21, '08 12:45 PM
for everyone
In about 2 hours, arugably the biggest soccer match of 2008 will kick off.
Manchester United takes on Chelsea for title of EUFA Champions League winners.
For Manchester United Football Club, this match has been 50 years in the making.
In 1958, Manchester United were contesting in only their second European Cup tuornament.
The team was affectionately known then as the "Busby Babes".
This was in reference to the manager Matt Busby and the unusually young average age of the players.
While taking off from Munich, the plane carrying the team crashed.
23 out of 44 passengers on board died, including 8 Manchester United players and 3 staffs.
9 players survived that crash, some of them hurt so badly they never played again.
Matt Busby was hospitalised for 2 months, and never given a chance to survive.
He lived on and guided Manchester United to European Cup glory 10 years later in 1968.
The man pictured lifting the cup is none other than Bobby Charlton, one of the players who survived the crash.
Watching that match from the stands at Wembley Stadium in 1968 was an 18 years old kid named Alex Ferguson.
Alex Ferguson would later lead a Manchester United team to EUFA Champions League glory in 1999.
Today, Bobby Charlton is Sir Bobby Charlton, while Alex Ferguson himself, Sir Alex Ferguson.
Will they have what it takes to inspire another generation of United heroes to victory tonight?
For all that is sacred in football, Yes!
My bet will be on my beloved Manchester United to win tonight.
Glory Glory Manchester United
Blog EntrySkating = DangerousMay 19, '08 12:19 PM
for everyone
It is. As dangerous as cycling. Perhaps more, if you skate real fast and try fancy tricks.
Just ask Jimmy. Complete fracture of the left humerus. Ouch!
Somehow, that failed to dampen his spirit. Strange fella haha!
While visiting him at Changi General Hospital, I saw others who suffer the same fate.
How do I know? Very simple. Arm in plaster cast, knee pads still on legs.
Conclusion, skating = dangerous activity!
I only had one meal on Thursday; $28.85 lunch at XinWang @ Marina Sq.
Almost immediately after lunch, fever lai liao.
Struggled through my afternoon and evening appointments and rushed home by cab.
Cab fare was $19.95 by the way, gosh!
That was the start of 3 long days of lao sai.
Wonder when it's gonna end... sigh...
Blog EntryNoodles & LampMay 13, '08 12:40 PM
Daisy introduced me to Hong Kong Trolley Noodles a couple of years back.
It was at the once struggling, now bustling Hong Kong Cafe at Katong Village.
Not very nice. Can do, but not great. Their version that is.
Not too long ago, they opened a new stall at Marina Square foodcourt.
Much better. I've eaten there a few times, in fact.
This was what I had yesterday.
Yummy right? I added extra curry sauce, satay sauce and beef briskett sauce. Yumz!
Introduced it to my colleagues too.
This is what one of them did with hers.
Anyways, I must add disclaimer that it's not like over the moon yummy.
A very good meal for $4.00, with plenty of animal spare parts to choose from.
Later in the night, another colleague brought something very interesting over.
I'm not sure what it's made of exactly, but looks like cacoon shells.
It's a lamp actually, and I like it lots.
Nice right?
Will put it in the living room of the future house.
Blog EntryBack From PonggolMay 11, '08 8:56 AM
for everyone
Just got back from Ponggol Seventeenth Avenue. Felt like somewhere in Sarawak honestly.
Had a very wonderful time there and now it's time to put what we've discovered there into practice.
But first, there is the very very exciting issue of the title of the English Premier League champions.
Will Manchester United win it yet again?
*** Updated ***
Manchester United are champions again!
Ole! Ole! Ole!
I won my annual $10 bet on them to win yet again haha :-)
Blog EntryMarriage Boot CampMay 9, '08 5:28 AM
Checking into a Catholic Engaged Encounter weekend camp tonight.
No idea what to expect but rather excited; kinda like my schoolboy days.
Gotta pack toothbrush, towels, slippers, jacket, blah blah blah
I'll probably even bring along insect repellent and torchlight for the fun of it.
Will there be ghost stories? Ooh this is building up in quite a fun way.
Anyways, for sure we are not allowed mobile communication devices.
Being a church thingy, there definitely wont be any hanky-panky too.
After all, it's a marriage preparation course, not marriage preparation intercourse
